The exceptionally talented team at Hygge has the rare knack of balancing timeless beauty with functionality, unexpected with practical and simply reading a room - or, in other words, getting on their clients' level and feeling their vibe. We've used them for two drastically different projects. First, for our 1400 sq ft San Diego beachy bungalow and then again when we moved a bit further out for more space to a house nearly 2.5 times bigger with a large pool and yard. They blew our expectations out of the water each time. The first time around being a bit more whimsical and creative with the colors while still functional and without being *too out there. The second house, more elevated but with pops of what I coined "unexpected delights"--mixing sophistication with surprises along the way. They are efficient, crazy organized (providing spreadsheets with not only links to products, but essential details such as dimensions, tips to get deals, etc) and super responsive. They listen to (occasional) feedback and aren't opposed to sending several ideas to those clients who don't quite know how to describe what they want until they see it (raises hand!). They also include budget friendly DIY options, and tips such as what type of paint to get based on the surface area/room being painted. They provide so much more value beyond some sketches and product links, really developing a relationship with their clients and truly considering their style and day to day functional needs when going to the drawing board. Perhaps the biggest props I can give them is how they totally nailed my home office, making it a haven where I enjoy my morning coffee alone before the craziness of the day sets in. On work calls, both clients and colleagues constantly comment how amazing my office is - and a few have even asked if I am using a fake background! Run, don't walk to Hygge for your design needs!

Buying a house was one of those monumental accomplishments, but after two years it still didn’t feel like home. With our family room being the heart of our home, I didn’t like the look and was scared to put anything on the walls. I was lost until talking to HLD. Being in different states, on a small budget, and not having seen the house I wasn’t quite sure if they could really help. After taking pictures of my family room, gathering dimensions, and talking with their team to get a good handle on my design aesthetic, the vision they presented was PERFECT! After purchasing some pieces and layering in a few of my own its now a family room I’m excited to live in! I had the pleasure of workign with HLD on a complete playroom overhaul for our toddler and his new sister. The process HLD uses to understand an individual’s style is truly comprehensive. Between their intake forms, virtual consultations, and inspiration boards I was confident that they understood my taste in style. With me, I know what I like when I see it, but I am not able to conceptualize a space on my own. Having a team that put the entire look together all while keeping my budgetary goals in mind was truly invaluable. I didn’t have to think about a thing! They thought about style, which was important to me, but they really thought about what was developmentally right for our children. They organized the toys so that they were easy to find (and most importantly, put away on their own!), with labels that could be updated as my kids age. They created a custom barista stand around the kids’ kitchen so that they can really use their imagination to play. They made the most organized art cart, full of tools to help our kids work on their fine motor skills and explore their artistic side. And last but not least a gallery wall full of family pictures to remind them how much they are loved. HLD is stuck with me for life because we’ll now be doing every other room in our house with them!

I wanted to transform our work out room into a place that was more functional for our exercise needs, but still looking for a polished finish. The vibe I desired was a masculine feel with a touch of softer decor items. I reached out to Hygge to help me with the project because I was having difficulty executing my vision and was becoming overwhelmed. Kaitlin and Erica did an amazing job turning my 80’s bachelor pad into a colorful, updated home. We had a quick four week turnaround and were able to completely transform the space before move in. They picked out a beautiful wide, blonde engineered hardwood for most of the living area, comfy carpets for the bedrooms, and a super unique and fun tile for the guest bath. We painted every wall and cabinet including the pretty blue kitchen cabinets and teal accent wall. We topped it all off wtih new quartz countertops they sourced, as well as sinks, hardware, and backsplash. I truly didn’t know the transformation was possible but Kaitlin and Erica nailed it! They perfectly identified my colorful, quirky, and antique style. They were also so patient with all my questions and met my timeline and budget. Highly recommend Hygge Line Design!

We’ve been living in our home for about three years with a mishmash of furniture in our main living space. After staying home so much during the pandemic we were ready to make the space cohesive, but knew we didn’t have the eye to get it right. We are so grateful to Erica and Kaitlin for all of their help turning this space around! They took our style, needs for the room, and budget and found the perfect furniture and design. We never thought about painting our fireplace mantle and surround and it’s now the centerpiece of the space in such a sleek way. Erica and Kaitlin continued to help with all the small things too. High high do we hang the curtain rods? Where do we mount the shelf? What type of plants would freshen things up? They had all the answers and were so quick to help out when we needed it. We especially like the personal touches. We wanted some unique art and they surprised us with a gorgeous painting of our family. They thought of small details like fabric for our sofa that would be conducive to our family and lifestyle. We cannot wait to share the space with our family and friends this summer! Thank you to Hygge Line Design for helping us to transform our screened in porch. When we bought this home I was thrilled to have this apce for our family but was having a hard time figuring out how to make it functional, inviting, and beautiful. Erica and Kaitlin completely transformed our main floor living space. Their design included paint color selections for walls, accents, cabinetry, and the fireplace surround. They selected furniture, window treatments, rugs, and decor pieces that all seamlessly come together within our budget.
